The Shape of Now

For this editorial in Marie Claire Serbia, international plus-size model Daria Nazarova collaborated with photographer Asel Baiganalieva and hair stylist Fanny Guaman to create a story centered on transformation, presence, and contemporary femininity.

Rooted in the language of high fashion, the project approaches body positivity not as a statement, but as a natural part of visual expression. Moving through shifts in mood — softness and strength, vulnerability and control — the series demonstrates that the body can be diverse, layered, and expressive. Plus-size representation is presented not as a category, but as an integral element of modern fashion discourse.

More than a visual narrative, the editorial serves as a voice for plus-size women, reinforcing that diversity of form is neither a trend nor an exception, but a rightful presence within high fashion.

Nazarova brings a confident and versatile performance to the series, embodying multiple emotional tones with clarity and intention. Baiganalieva defines the visual structure through deliberate composition and tonal depth, while Guaman’s sculptural hair design enhances the sense of transformation and individuality throughout the story.

Published in Marie Claire Serbia, the project reflects a contemporary vision of inclusive fashion and its evolving role in shaping new visual standards — where diversity is simply recognized as part of the norm.
